Hi.

Welcome to my blog. Here you will find a collection of my favorite discoveries while traveling around the world.

I particularly like to focus on those that have personally evoked a soulful experience... you know... those kind that stop you in your tracks with their "wow, that's so cool", those moments that you get goosebumps from seeing something so breathtakingly beautiful, or eating food so yummy it makes your toes curl with delight!

Yep- those…It's what I live for. Hope you enjoy!

Taste of Paris

The once a year food festival for serious foodlovers!

After hearing about this event from a friend-in-the-know and missing it 2 years in a row, I made it my mission this year to go. *Part-time poet 😊

So what's it about?

4 days, broken out into lunch and dinner sessions, consisting of delectable food tastings freshly prepared by Paris's Michelin starred chefs, 18 highly acclaimed trendsetting restaurants & some of the cities finest patisseries. Yes please!

This delicious extravaganza is setup as an exhibition throughout the main hall within the Grand Palais, where the well-known chefs serve up some of their most delightful and appetizing small plates any lover of food could ever wish for.  What I particularly enjoyed about it is that the cost and size per plate enables anyone the opportunity to experience top notch dishes as well as taste many of these exquisitely tasteful creations, without breaking the bank or being too full to taste many varieties. The event also offers live cooking demonstrations and gourmet food products to purchase, however when there are chefs of this caliber cooking for me, let's be honest, I'd just prefer to do the eating!

My personal favorites were Ferrandi Paris's take on the bao bun (Steamed "bao" brioche with beef cheek confit, pickled carrot/onion/cucumber, peanut and coriander), La Regalade's mouth watering meat dish (Tender farm-reared pork belly from Eric Ospital, pork crackling) and Epoca's creatively curated black spaghetti (Fresh tagliolini with vegetable charcoal, artichokes and Amalfi lemon, served in Grana Padano cheese wheeland).  As far as the desserts, with Paris being the world champion of pastry making and me having a built-in sweet tooth, I can't pick just one, I enjoyed every single delicious bite of all 4 desserts ordered!!  All that said and with you now hopefully hungry,  I'm gonna stop there, have you scroll down and let the food do all the rest of the talking.

Enjoy, Happy Salivations and be sure to comment below with the dish that looks most appetizing to you!

Also, if you happen to be in Paris in May, one of the best month's to visit in my opinion, be sure not to miss this.  It will be a unique, soulful and tummy-filling experience that you'll never forget!
