Waterfall in Paris
As Spring has finally peeked its sunny head out of these winter Parisian clouds, I was prompted to get out and go do one of my favorite things- run and explore!
Today's exploratory mission was to make my way to a little oasis of greenery I visited once upon a time 2 years ago. While most know about the wondrous beauty of the Luxembourg and Tuileries gardens, this one is a best kept secret held sacred by the locals.
Ladies and Gents, I introduce to you ...
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont: A hidden oasis of beautifully blossoming flowers, green rolling hills, bridges, a lake, and yes even a waterfall.
In a city like Paris with bustling streets surrounded by its gorgeously orchestrated yet encompassing buildings and monuments it never ceases to amaze me that you can turn a corner and land in a huge paradise of greenery like this. It brings peace and balance to the stresses that can arise from daily life and gives way to allow me and all who land here to take a moment to stop, breathe and see the real beauty of being right here right now with a kiss of nature!
Additionally, in the case you are like me and suffer from hangry ;) the Buttes-Chaumont, like most places in Paris, has got you covered with a fantastic restaurant just overlooking the bridge, Le Pavillion Du Lac. Perfect after-run stop to enjoy the sunshine, have a coffee, a delicious meal all while being like a true Parisian and people watching!
For all my planners, here's a link to the restaurants site if you'd like to take a look at their menu or plan a special event as they do a lot of that too: http://www.lepavillondulac.fr/ as well as map to teh Parc below to help you locate this little haven of bliss and have a visit!
